As the role of the fire and rescue services take on lead responsibility for flood incidence management, Mike is admirably placed to lead the training for water rescue. Mike Goodwin has built up a reputation as an excellent marine trainer in the London Fire Brigade. A post he has held since 1994.
Mike began his fire service career more than 30 years ago in East London where he fought fires in the London Docks and onboard ships. He has received commendations for two marine rescues as well as receiving the twenty year long service and good conduct medal.
As a marine instructor Mike holds a number of RYA instructor qualifications including:
• Yacht master instructor (power) with commercial endorsement
• DSC/VHF instructor and assessor
• Powerboat Level 2 instructor and assessor
• Basic Sea Survival instructor and assessor
• European Boat Master's Licence
and has experience in training on a wide range of motor vessels including:
• propeller drive
• jet drive
• outdrives
• outboard engines
Mike is also a qualified instructor for:
• Breathing apparatus
• LGV driving
• Aerial ladder operation
JULIET WARD (MBA) - Principal
As a professional manager Juliet holds an MBA from Cass Business School and geography degree from Manchester University. She has worked for a number of blue chip organisations and for the past 15 years has been involved in education management with an up to date understanding of work based learning and accreditation.
Juliet has a long standing interest in riparian activities. She holds a number of RYA qualifications and is an experienced sailor.
